Privacy
Wild OS is a Wild Origins project. This page explains what the wildos.io website keeps about you, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated 6 November 2026.
The launch list
If you give us your email address in the launch form, we keep it so we can send you one email on the day Wild OS is ready to download. We don’t send anything else, we don’t add you to any other list, and we never share, sell or rent your address. Once the launch email has gone, we delete the list.
The address is kept in the website’s own database on our hosting in the UK. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us and asking to be taken off.
Google Analytics
With your permission we use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, how they found the site and which parts they read. It is on the page, but it sets no cookies and keeps nothing on your device unless you accept. If you accept, Google sets its _ga cookies, which last up to two years, and receives details such as the pages you view, your browser and your rough location. We don’t use it for advertising and we don’t link it to your email address.
You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Saying no after a yes removes the Analytics cookies straight away.
What else the site keeps
Your cookie choice is saved in your browser so we don’t ask on every page. Like every website, the server keeps short-lived logs of requests (such as your IP address and the page asked for) to keep the site secure and working. There are no other trackers, adverts or social media widgets.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how it’s used. Email hello@wildorigins.uk and we’ll reply within a month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
